Job Description:
This is contract to hire position ( Based on the performance).- Be part of a team supporting various product offerings in various project environments ensuring Greater Reliability, High Performance, High Availability and Scalability.
- Solve Complex, non-routine problems and determine best solutions through cost/benefit analysis
- Perform database tuning, prepare monitoring guidelines and capacity planning while developing backup and recovery strategies
- Provide technical expertise in identifying and evaluating databases and developing procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
- Support to database instances with storage running on several Terra bytes
- Frequently interact with Functional Peer groups
- Support Azure SQL databases - Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Able to perform assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of Database Administration and Management processes/Strategies Hands-on experience
- Well versatile with Azure database PaaS service and their capabilities in areas of administration, performance, availability and scalability
- SQL Server 2019 & Azure SQL
- Setup, monitor and manage core database maintenance tasks
- Develop and monitor system and application alerts
- Health monitoring and troubleshooting windows and database servers
- Exposure to various SQL Server and Database tools
- Tuning complex SQL statements and troubleshooting database performance problems using various performance analyses and troubleshooting tools like query execution plans, DMVs, wait statistics, performance monitor, extended events, profiler traces
- Setup and troubleshoot SQL Server Replication and Log Shipping , Mirroring, Always on.
- Database Security
- Compression and Partitioning
- Installing and upgrading system software
- Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, concurrency issues , connectivity issues, security issues etc.
- Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs)
- SQL Development ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) as needed.
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
- Excellent communication skills, with strong verbal and writing proficiency.
- Being self-motivated, autonomous and ambitious
