Fast-paced Intermodal Dray Company is currently hiring for a Dispatcher , Duties will include managing a fleet of over40 drivers, There are several integral parts to the Dispatch administrator position Below is a breakdown of responsibilities and requirements.

Responsibilities

Duties typically include coordinating freight, verifying and reviewing paperwork such as bills of lading, assigning responsibilities to Owner Operators, enforcing compliance policies and communicating with customers to provide updates and resolve issues.

Logistics and Deliveries responsibilities include but are not limited to the below;

Managing of the terminal dispatch schedules to ensure delivery of goods to clients in a timely manner within the free time allotted

Keeping record of incoming goods, dispatch destinations and the number of trucks and drivers available daily to plan weekly as needed.

Keep a schedule of drivers to prepare for and know when a driver reaches their HOS time limits daily

Ensure all correspondence with customers is prompt accurate and professional from Owner Operators

Customer Service responsibilities include but are not limited to the below;

Communicate directly with customers as needed for next-level customer service with regards to service failures, late arrivals, possible damaged goods, etc.

Communicate all failures to the Terminal Manager.

Include resolution and prevention plans for future issues.

Obtain additional freight where needed and maintain relationships with each

Set up new accounts with the assistance of Accounting and Terminal Management when needed

Determine staffing needs at the terminal and bring to the attention of Management.

Participate in the interview and hiring process for all Owner Operators

Responsible for the assistance of onboarding new driver hires

Participate in training programs for drivers.

Training may involve keeping drivers updated on new technologies and regulations,

training drivers on the terminal's logistics systems, software programs that track schedules and deliveries, and on safety processes and procedures.

Participate in all Safety meetings for Drivers and Staff

Assign additional remedial training to the driver with Terminal Manager as see fit through Corporate Safety and Compliance

Regulatory Compliance

Responsible for ensuring that the driver complies with a variety of federal and state laws that regulate the trucking and transportation industry.

Basic knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations governing truck drivers,

drug and alcohol testing, driver qualifications, hours of service, vehicle safety standards.

Dispatchers must ensure drivers are aware of and comply with FMCSA rules and regulations and must also ensure that trucks and other equipment meet safety and mechanical requirements.

Weekley Truck checks are performed filed and sent to Safety on a monthly basis as required by the corporate Safety department

Yard checks are to be performed daily and reconciled not only for Intermodal equipment but for the integrity of the office building as well as the surrounding gates and barriers

Data Entry / Payroll responsibilities include but are not limited to the below;

The managing of timely data entry to comply with free time on and off dock

Verify all payroll issues with the Terminal Manager with a final approval prior to submitting to Corporate Accounting

Must be able to explain losses and margin to Terminal Manager

Monitor changes in Import and Export Markets and rate changes by customers with Terminal Manager

Be a Driver advocate with regards to rate increases as well as fuel increases based on market fluctuations.

Stay ahead of the curve and present market changes to customers and Management with regards to increases in a timely manner to adjust rates.
