General Job Description

Seeking qualified welder to join our aluminum fabrication team. We build specialty products for DoD customers such as aluminum brows, work platforms and storage fixtures. Successful candidate will be qualified under D1.2 procedures (GMAW) and hold current certifications. The successful candidate must be able to read and understand shop drawings and welding procedures and be competent in the operation of welding equipment. This position may require fabrication support tasks such as cutting and shearing or assembling products as directed when production requirements dictate a need. Fluency in English is required. Dual certification in aluminum and steel is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Welding competency in all positions for a single process.

Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS.

Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code.

Utilizes jigs and fixtures where appropriate.

Performs basic fitting work as instructed.

High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree.

Certified welder holding current certifications (GMAW 1G-6G).

Ability to read and interpret plans and shop drawings.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous activity in a factory production environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee must be able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.

This is an hourly wage position with competitive compensation DOE. The company offers a medical/vision and dental plan, 401K plan, sick leave and paid time off to eligible employees.
