Job DetailsThe FPGA Engineer/Developer will work as part of an experienced team and be responsible for the design, development, test, and implementation of FPGA based packet processing and data-path designs. As part of their duties the FPGA Engineer/Developer will also be responsible for de-bugging issues involving an entire Remote-PHY or Remote-MACPHY system.Education and Experience Requirements:A degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or a Dual degree in EE/Computer Science or equivalent.3+ years of FPGA design and development experience.Development, verification and testing of packet processing, data-path and board control FPGA based designs.Evaluation of physical layer and system requirements of DOCSIS 3.1 and 3.0 specification hardware with the goal of designing, architecting solutions for, and implementing products or features that meet these requirements.Development using Xilinx Vivado and/or Altera Quartus Prime.Experience Designing in both low level hardware description languages as well as high level synthesis languages such as Xilinx HLS is highly desired.Verification of modules and sub-systems using high-level behavioral modeling in System Verilog and/or Verilog using Questasim/Modelsim.Writing low level driver API in C and working together with software engineers.Background in any of the following areas would be an asset:Packet processing, including knowledge of relevant standards such as 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet, SFP28, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, etc.Familiarity with DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 specifications.Ethernet OSI stack protocols, Media Access Control layer protocols and algorithms.Design of interfaces to peripheral components such as external DDR4 memory and microcontrollers.Digitally modulated signals such as QAM and OFDM, especially in a DOCSIS application.Encryption/Decryption implementation and algorithms.Basic proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and TCL.Embedded processors.Digital Signal Processing for communications.Multi-rate clocking architectures and routing optimization.Control Theory - finite-state machines, closed-loop responses, and stability.IEEE 1588 Precision Timing ProtocolExperience in Passive Optical Network designsDigital to Analog converters and clock ICs.Experience working in a remote Linux environment, and using git for version control.Design and experimental verification and debugging of digital circuits using equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and analysis of input and output video streams.Remote interview processVirtual meetingsRemote position, temporarilyInterested in hearing more?
