Resurrection Lutheran Church is seeking friendly and organized office support.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep regular office hours as published to community
Answer calls and emails. Forward messages as appropriate
Collect and distribute incoming mail. Prepare and send outgoing mail
Produce weekly worship materials and materials for special services
Produce monthly newsletter, update website and post to Facebook,
reminding contributors as necessary
Produce occasional documents, such as congregational meeting materials and/or mailings
Schedule facility usage and maintain monthly calendar
Monitor and order office supplies
Organize office space and copy room
Keep private information confidential
Meet with other staff weekly to coordinate ministry
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Excellent telephone and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading. Pleasant public demeanor. Computer skills, including word processing and email. Willingness to work with people from a wide-range of circumstances. Ability to take direction from multiple leaders and prioritize tasks.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience working in churches or other non-profit organizations. Familiarity with historical liturgy extremely helpful. Pro-active planning and initiative to address upcoming events and/or challenges.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
This position is currently 12-15 hours a week. It has future potential to grow into an office manager position with the right match. Schedule to be coordinated to accommodate successful applicant and church needs.
