Our client, the largest mutual life insurance company in the US, is seeking a Data Integration Engineer - Storage Engineering Consultant - III

Job Summary: Enterprise storage engineering role contributes to the team in designing, engineering, documenting, and supporting the implementation of new technologies in the storage domain for the Enterprise Computing Services. Applicant should be well-versed in a wide range of storage, networking, and compute technologies.

Job Responsibilities: -Work with Architecture, Implementation and Operations to develop engineering designs to facilitate projects through the full SDLC lifecycle (initiate, define, design, build, run). -Facilitate reporting on capacity, availability, and performance management metrics to ensure a stable and supportable storage environment. -Provide Level 3 Engineering support for Level 2 Operations team.

Technical Skills -Requirement: -NetApp AFF/FAS - Experience implementing and supporting All Flash FAS and/or Fabric-Attached Storage hardware; Deep knowledge of the ONTAP 9.x operating environment; CIFS/SMB and NFSv3/v4, file protocols; Storage capacity management and provisioning; Performance tuning and optimization; SnapMirror replication and SVM DR, OnCommand System Manger, Unified Manager and Insight (OCI) experience helpful. -Veeam Availability Suite - Veeam Backup & Replication architecture and management; Integration with VMware vSphere, Backup from Storage Snapshots, NAS Backup and Data Domain Boost Scale-Out Backup Repositories. Veeam Archive Tier and Immutable Storage. Veeam Enterprise Manager, Veeam ONE utilities. Recent experience with Veeam v10/11 desired. -Dell EMC Data Domain - Data Domain/PowerProtect DD appliance product family knowledge; Hardware refresh and data migration experience. DD OS, DDMC; Oracle RMAN Boost Direct backup experience; Knowledge of Data Domain features: CIFS, NFS, DD Boost clients, RetentionLock and Cloud Tier features.

Technical Skills - Desirable: -IBM Cloud Object Storage - Experience or exposure to iCOS in a compliant archive (WORM) environment utilizing the S3 API for data access. Exposure to IBM enterprise content management applications helpful (FileNet, CMOD). -Dell EMC Elastic Cloud Storage - Experience or exposure to ECS in a compliant archive (WORM) environment utilizing the CAS API for data access. -NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP - CVO deployment, management, and provisioning in an AWS or Azure tenant. NetApp Cloud Manager. Cluster peering and replication with other CVO instances as well as on-premise ONTAP systems. Cloud Concepts - Hybrid cloud storage experience; Data mobility/tiering between on-premise data services and AWS and/or Azure. IaaS and SaaS backup strategies and best practices.

Experience: -5-7 years of experience managing and supporting enterprise scale network-attached storage solutions. -7-10 years of experience building and supporting enterprise scale backup & recovery solutions. -1-2 years of experience managing object-based storage services either on-premise or with a hyperscaler. -Provide technical guidance to team and service providers. -Excellent understanding of current storage technology trends across all managed computing platforms (Windows, Linux, VMware, AWS EC2, Azure VM, etc.). -Experience with disaster recovery techniques including asynchronous replication, system fail-over and failback processes. -Technical knowledge across various disciplines to assist team with the resolution of complex infrastructure integration issues/problems and interface with multiple vendors to coordinate resolution of both hardware and software problems.

Education: -Bachelor's degree or seven years of equivalent work experience.
