The Purpose of Your Role
  • This role will be the tech lead of a dev ops team. As a senior developer you will interact with architecture and management to translate product requirements to technology solutions. You will serve as mentor for junior engineers within dev ops team. You will be responsible for design and implementation of technical solutions to achieve business goals for the product offering.
  • Client's Defined Benefit Platform Technology team is seeking highly motivated, Principal Software Engineer to join its dynamic, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for design and development of Client's DB Platform Applications at its North Carolina site.

The Team
  • WI – DB Platform team manage applications that supports Defined Benefit (also known as pension) plans on behalf of Client's corporate clients, their employees and retirees. Platform team contains agile squads working on Discretionary projects, Infrastructure and platform modernization projects (eg: Sybase to SQL Server database migration, public cloud migration), application maintenance and production incident support.
  • In this role, you will serve as a Principal Software Engineer, who will partner within the DB Platform Development team. You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of quality C based applications that are used by Client’s workplace participants. You will work closely with the scrum master, systems analysts, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features. You will also be encouraged to provide guidance and mentoring to the other developers within the scrum team in accordance with your skills and experiences.

  • You have hands-on experience across multiple platforms, and can navigate your way across a complex and rapidly changing technology landscape and stay on top of industry trends

The Skills You Bring
  • Experience in C application development.
  • Demonstrated Experience handling native code, Windows DLL and IIS native server extensibility APIs
  • Experience in database design and development using PL/SQL
  • Experience in tools and methods to enable efficiency, performance, and agility through automating DevOps processes (Maven, Jenkins, Stash).
  • Strong knowledge of developing highly scalable distributed systems using Open source technologies.
  • Good understanding of public cloud capabilities including compute, storage, database (e.g. AWS or Azure), Helm and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Java application development using Spring is a plus.
  • Technical leadership and global delivery experience in an Agile fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of testing automation frameworks.
  • Experience with Defined Benefit pension plans is desirable but not required
