Job Description:Blue Star Partner’s client is starting an effort to organize and streamline various inputs across the company and create a structure and governance that will allow them to save time and increase efficiencies holistically. An integral part of the organization will be a turnkey approval process with appropriate checks and balances ensuring all projects and contracts are approved prior to any work beginning.The implemented solution that will assist the client in reconfiguring current cadences and create a streamlined process for approvals and oversight of budgets, projects, and signed contracts. The solution will ensure that all projects and contracts have definitive start and stop points aligned with project milestones and completion or acceptance definitions. Internal and external resources will be more easily identified, on boarded and tracked, and internal and external change impact assessments and management tools will ensure the right pace and acceptance of change.The PPM Technical Lead will lead the organization’s efforts to implement the above, working closely with the Program Lead, Enterprise Project Management Office Lead and Enterprise Change Management Office Lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead reconfiguration/implementation of PPM (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, etc.) and potentially other systems to establish an enterprise CMO and enterprise PMO to meet the company’s current and future needs
  • Lead the analysis, selection and roll-out of PPM and other system tools to better support company-wide initiatives
  • Set ground rules and expectations for the project teams
  • Formalize a common language for portfolio / project managers, functional leaders and other stakeholders that smooths communication and ensures expectations are fully understood
  • Set appropriate levels of visibility and increase accountability across the entire organization
  • Own and maintain project management standards and methodology (waterfall and agile)
  • Partner with the enterprise project management office and enterprise change management office to conduct resource and capacity planning
  • Establish and maintain key competencies and skills and set standards
  • Determine and communicate key performance indicators for measuring project performance
  • Conduct regular reviews and ensure organizational compliance
  • Create buy-in throughout the business
  • Support, coach, and supervise a new team of developers
  • Develop clear and concise documentation to identify processes, problems, and action plans as well as design attractive and simple sketches, charts, diagrams, and other illustrative material to facilitate communication of complicated topics
  • Facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels and serve as a role model for teamwork
  • Forecast, plan and track budget for projects

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex IT and software development projects
  • Experience reconfiguring, extending the usage of, or implementing PPM Systems (i.e., ServiceNow PPM, Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.) in large organizations
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management best practices including knowledge of waterfall, agile and SDLC methodologies and tools
  • Experience and knowledge of organizational change management, portfolio management, program management, project management and strategic planning
  • Previous experience working on the implementation and deployment of PPM Systems.
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • IT strategic planning and integration planning skills at a project level
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven success motivating diverse teams
  • Must have excellent leadership skills (proven ability to coach, develop, and lead a team) and must be able to work with a diverse project team consisting of resources from all parts of the organization (both IT & Business)
  • Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision
  • Strong scope management, issue management and risk management skills
  • Familiarity with the Energy Industry is a plus
