Description Job Description:Leidos Public Health Division is hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Tools Developer for our projects at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA.As a BI Tools Developer, you will be responsible for assisting the customer in building Microsoft Power BI solutions that meet customer requirements. These tools and reports will be used by internal CDC customers as well as the general public and academia.This may involve working with established POCs (Points of Contact) at CDC and preparing customer presentations to determine the best design and visuals to meet their requirements. You will also work with the Leidos Data Science team to establish data pipelines to ensure the dashboard information is current. You will design and develop complex enterprise level applications and other system software that meet Section 508 accessibility standards. These applications will also meet the CDC's testing and security requirements. You will use your superior oral and written communications skills to effectively present results and to convey development progress, raise issues, write reports, and other customer deliverables that provide clarity and value. As our BI Tools Developer, you may assist with documenting the conversion effort, including lessons learned.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop complex enterprise level applications and other system software using a strong working knowledge of Power BI, data transformation and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.Configure Power BI Gateway and workspace settings. Liaise with CDC technical support teams to ensure proper configuration of the Power BI workspace for internal and external audiencesWork in a collaborative environment and attend Agile Scrum development meetings to support the Leidos team.Data wrangling, typically in R, Python, or SAS (or similar technologies) to prepare data stored in our data lake or in SQL Server databases for visualization in Power BI.Support development of ETL scripts in both SQL Server and R.Documentation of the Power BI configuration.Deploy enhancements and new visualizations following the Leidos development process.Monitor and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports in Production.Assist customers by answering their design, development questions related to Power BI. Follow Leidos standards in creating the project life cycle application structures, application quality assurance, 508 compliance.Resolve issue tickets submitted by customers, related to functionality and data availability of Power BI Dashboards. This includes gathering requirements and modifying existing software and configuration and thoroughly testing changes to correct errors.Responsible for assisting the customer in determining the most appropriate BI Tool and visualizations for their requirements.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree with 2-4 years relevant experience Demonstrated design, development, and administration of Power BI in an enterprise environment. Experience with version control software such as Github. Ability to independently and rapidly learn new technology, as needed Experience building data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI. Experience eliciting requirements that lead to identification of business rules. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level. Ability to troubleshoot production report failures. Familiarity with extracting data from flat files and SQL databases. Familiarity with the Agile Development methodologies and SCRUM.Preferred QualificationsExperience working at CDC or other federal agencies Self-managed with the ability to coach and mentor others. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365. Ability to quickly learn new BI (Business Intelligence) Tools as needed. Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). Experience with Tableau, R Shiny development and/or R Markdown reports. Extensive technical experience with requirements analysis efforts for large-scale successful IT (Information Technology) system implementations. Requirements analysis experience with identifying services and defining, processing and prioritizing requirements. Business Process Modeling experience to visualize, document, model and analyze business processes.
