Sr Oracle Database Architect/Administrator with OCI, RAC, PL/SQL, SQL Server with one of our client in Raleigh NC. ROLE: Sr Oracle Database Architect/Administrator JOB SUMMARYResponsible for keeping the database up and running smoothly 24/7. Will also be assigned lead roles for database management within the team. Provides a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both back-end data structure and front-end accessibility for end-users. Designs, tests, plans, implements, protects, operates, monitors, administers and maintains databases. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides proactive and reactive database support and guidance to the application developers
- Maintains databases for high availability and quality
- Ensures database access aligns with each end user’s specified role
- Implements databases in accordance with company/business/vendor specifications
- Upgrades databases when required
- Deploys vendor provided patches and security updates as necessary
- Upgrades and improves application schemas as necessary
- Monitors database performance and resolves issues as they arise.
- Performs tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
- Proactively and regularly makes recommendations and implement system improvements
- Collates, prepares and presents statistical information for internal (peer) and external (client) customers
- Leads and implements database design, code review, SQL query tuning
- Creates and documents new policies and procedures
- Provides guidance and training junior DBAs
- Produces training materials as required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field
- Experience with OracleCloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Experience with programming languages such PL/SQL coding
- Easily design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code
- Experience in administering, managing and tuning databases
- Experience with Oracle RAC, SQL Server or MySQL
- Solid understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
- Solid understand database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
- Expertise in SQL
- Ability to Implement and manage company data management practices and policies
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with internal (peers and customers) and external (client) customers as an active team member.
- Exceptional time-management skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
