Job Description

The typical schedule for 2nd shift is Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am with a 30 minute unpaid meal each shift.

Job Summary

Performs machine operator tasks in the se-up, maintenance and operations of rewinding equipment. Inspects, repairs and processes finished labels.

Essential Functions

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Reviews work order package and contents to ensure conformity to written and verbal instructions.

· Mounts roll onto rewinder and sets up according to requirements.

· Secures approval from supervisor after set-up.

· Performs in-process inspection, specific requirements and frequency determined by supervisor upon approval.

· Segregates defects according to departmental procedures.

· Follows all department procedures and work instructions.

· Operates equipment in safe and cost effective manner.

· Maintains clean work area.

· Ensures compliance with company safety rules and policies.

Other (Non-Essential) Functions

Includes functions, which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be assigned to other employees as part of a “Reasonable Accommodation” under the ADA.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

· High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read a blueprint.

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

· The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job include: required regularly to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must sometimes lift/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

· The employee occasionally is exposed to fumes, toxic chemicals and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
