Job Description

The candidate shall provide Operating Systems Instructor/Writer service, support, and training development for the Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon Georgia 30905. Instructor/Writers will assist in developing training, provide classroom support, participate in operational tests, conduct training material validation, develop programs of instruction (POI) and Master Training Plans. Instructor writers will perform instructional delivery and content development to assist training developers, curriculum managers, and mission customers to design and implement training packages; create instructional assessments; and maintain subject matter expertise.

Job – Scope

Candidates will support the development and instruction of Army Cyber School technical and planning courses. The Army Cyber School training includes Career Field 17’s (Cyber Operations) Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC), Captain’s Career Course (CCC), Operations Officer Course (OOC), Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC), Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC), and other Cyberspace Operations courses as directed.

Personnel supporting the Cyber School shall assist and support the Cyber Center of Excellence personnel and shall utilize and develop all training related products IAW all applicable regulations and SOPs (i.e. TRADOC REG 350-70 with appendixes). Instructors will facilitate adult learning through modern training techniques and methodologies and assist in developing Cyberspace Operations (CO) curriculum.

Job - Duties:

Perform instructional delivery and content development at Fort Gordon and other locations determined by training requirements and events.

  • Assist training developers, curriculum managers, and mission customers to design and implement a total training package; this includes creating instructional, assessment, and evaluation content as required.
  • As identified by Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) for the contract, create courseware for technical instruction. Content development will be in accordance with TRADOC and Cyber School processes. Courseware development will include but is not limited to student activities, instructor/facilitation guides, OpenStack heat templates, and assessment material.
  • Deliver approved instruction to students for each lesson via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities and regulated assessments.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise to be able to provide instructional delivery and content development.

Qualifications

Must be well versed in both the Linux API and the Windows API (win32 & UWP).

  • Must have instructed in the theory and use of Windows, Linux, and programming for at least one day in a professional setting within the past 5 years.
  • Possess at least 5 years’ experience in and knowledge of operating system concepts such as processes, threads, context switching, user mode/kernel mode, synchronization, IO and CPU Scheduling and their associated algorithms, memory management, and filesystems.
  • Possess 2 years’ experience of the aforementioned in Windows, GNU/Linux, and BSD.
  • Possess the ability to complete both LFS and BLFS (Linux from Scratch/Beyond Linux from Scratch).
  • Possess 3 years’ experience in writing x86 assembly.
  • Possess 3 years’ experience in writing C.  Actively contributor to an open-source kernel or someone providing these services who has written software that interacts with the Windows kernel would likely have this level of skill.

    Degree Requirements: Preferred degrees included Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or an equivalent degree.

Travel: Maybe 25% of the time

Clearance Requirement: Must possess and maintain
