Job Description

Is responsible for the accounting and financial control function of the hotels. Monitoring of internal controls to ensure the security of company assets and the accurate recording of liabilities, income expenses and other transactions.

Essential Job Functions Maintaining efficient controls on compliance with company policies and procedures, legislative requirements and contractual obligations. Prepare and post monthly and periodic journal entries. Prepare monthly profit and loss statements. Perform all cashiering responsibilities for the property. Process all invoices for payment and post monthly accrual requests. Periodically liaison between corporate AR and property managers. Assist property managers in labor management where needed. Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned. Ensure accurate documentation and inventory values on hand. Perform periodic inventory audits. Responsible for proper storage of accounting records. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance required. 5 or more years of hotel accounting experience. Experience with hotel property management software, point of sale systems, spreadsheet software and word processing. Demonstrates and monitors own work for accuracy and thoroughness. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Prioritizes and plans work activities efficiently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
