  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of scientific principles, cellular biology.

  • Primary Cell isolation from human and animal tissue, rodent surgery.

  • Culture and maintain cells using aseptic technique.

  • Reagent optimization and qualification.

  • Participate in NPI core teams and technical transfers from R&D to Manufacturing.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to process human tissues.

  • Knowledge of DMPK science focused on drug metabolism, and cellular transport.

  • Identify root causes, troubleshoot and solve problems through experimental design and running of the outlined experiments detailed. Proactively identify future issues before they occur and take appropriate steps to eliminate occurrence.

  • Investigate and think critically by applying experience and logic to resolve a variety of problems.

  • Uses CI tools (DMAIC, SPC, DOE, Fishbone, etc.) to drive continuous improvements beyond daily work activities.

  • Consistently hits deliverables as outlined by manager.

  • Renegotiates timeliness with suggested path forward based business prioritization.

  • Identifies inconsistencies in data/results and conducts root cause analysis to determine the reasons for mis-alignment.

  • Drives preventive actions to be put into place to reduce occurrence in the future.

  • Maintain professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature and competitor products.

  • Conduct searches and compile ideas to highlight to supervisor/manager.

  • Guided by long-term business unit goals and objectives.

  • Anticipate needs and problems while creating solutions.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Revise and edit existing manufacturing protocols; participate in the development of manufacturing protocols for new products.

  • Actively participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

  • Responsible for the completion of all tasks assigned daily; this may require more than 40 hours in some work weeks.

  • Works effectively on cross-functional complex projects and provides training and constructive input to team members.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree, Ph.D. preferred, in Biology or related field

  • Five years of related lab experience in academia, pharma or in the bio-tech space.

  • Experience and expertise with some common molecular procedures such as RNA/DNA isolation, PCR/RT-PCR.

  • Equipment experience: Flow cytometer, Centrifuge, Pipette, nanodrop, balance, Agilent, Mass Spec, HPLC.

  • Must be customer focused, able to work under pressure with team.

  • Able to use CI tools (DMAIC, SPC, DOE, Fishbone, etc.)

  • Sets example by demonstrating excellence

  • Must be Detail oriented and Self-motivated
