Position title: Garden Maintenance & Installation

Department/group: Garden maintenance

Location: Middlebury, VT

Level/salary range: $15.00 - $19.00 / hr

Position type: Full time – Seasonal (April 1- Nov 15) 4 day work week (40 hours) with 5th day as required.

Role and responsibilities

Maintaining and installing garden beds and annual pots on private and commercial properties.

Working with landscape plans and the landscape designer during installation.

Maintaining and installing trees, shrubs & perennials.

This includes proper pruning, fertilizing and scouting for insects & diseases.

Able to work within a team and/or independently. Can expect to work with owner and seasoned team members.

Tasks may include:

Edging

Weeding

Dead heading

Mulching & composting

Tracking time, equipment & materials used on job.

Maintain safe and clean job sites.

Qualifications and education requirements

Equivalent work experience preferred but will train the right person.

Able to lift 40 +lbs (upon occasion)

Valid driver's license in good standing

High school diploma or equivalent

Interest in landscaping

Positive attitude

Preferred skills

Working knowledge of woody and herbaceous plants
