Reporters and Writers
Vacancy expired!
We’re looking for part-time freelancers with newspaper or magazine experience, although we will consider training promising candidates who have the drive. Current Mid-Valley residents are preferred.
Experienced writers and reporters can expect between $20 and $200 a piece, depending on the assignment.
Trainees are paid for pieces as they learn, and can expect earnings growth as their skills increase.
We publish The Corvallis Advocate, the only locally owned newspaper in the area. We've been online only during the lockdown, and are preparing for a return to print. Our goal is to offer readers a diverse mix of deep dive alternative media approaches, alongside mainstream news, and deeply considered analysis. We put a premium on thorough research, excellent use of language, and exceptional storytelling.
