Business Intelligence Specialist

Job Description

As a BI Specialist, your primary responsibilities include researching data requirements, designing and developing the company’s data warehouse using automated ETL pipelines, asking inspiring questions, working across the organization to unify intelligence efforts, curating easy to understand reports and dashboards, and training employees on the use of Business Intelligence and reporting tools.

1. Strong analytical skills for working with unstructured datasets

II. Communicate recommendations for change based on personal data analysis and investigated trends

III. Research and propose improvements to current infrastructure and processes

IV. Train, teach, and review projects for BI analysts/specialists

V. Maintain business relationships with current vendors

a. Lead out on negotiations for BI software and tool purchases and implementation

1. Work closely with internal stakeholders such as project champions, team leads, and department head
   1. Where appropriate, schedule in opportunities to generate new projects

Qualifications

We seek team members who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

· Strong SQL (MSSQL Server), MS Access, and Excel experience

· Experience with Domo preferred; Tableau, PowerBI, and/or other BI tools are a plus

· Strongproblem-solving skills, ability to troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Exhibit professionalism while dealing with customers and coworkers, including with confidentiality

· Programming and other IT or Business Intelligence skills a plus
