We provide dirt road repair, asphalt installation and maintenance located in south west Colorado and with a service area from South West Colorado, North West New Mexico and Eastern Arizona.(MUST HAVE MINIMUM 1 YEAR ASPHALT EXPERIENCE)

The Asphalt Worker will be performing tasks involving physical labor at parking lots, roadways and private driveways by operating one or several types of hand tools and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

Knowledge of how to operate skip-loaders, skid steers, roller, tamps, rake, etc.

Knowledge of materials and methods involved in paving

Ability to inspect, maintain, repair and clean equipment

Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment that may include but not limited to Truck, Car, Loader, Backhoe and Asphalt Paving Equipment

Self-starter, sense of urgency to meet project deadlines

Strong ability to multitask and set priorities effectively

Be flexible and adaptable to change

Demonstrate professionalism and strive for excellence

Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, and other various small tools.

General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews.

Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.

Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.

Follow direction of foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Participate as a team member in an environment of safety and success.

Promote, execute and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Environment

Work is performed in an outdoor environment which can include inclement weather, cold and/or heat and humidity.

Exposure to sun, dust, asphalt and other construction conditions.

Overtime and long days may be required depending on project flow.

Physical Demands

Constant physical effort, including standing for periods of time while operating tools or machinery. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and stoop, bend crouch, as required to perform key duties.

Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50lbs on a regular basis.

Frequently work with hands extended overhead, and the use of arms and hands in repetitive motions.

Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities including the activities of other employees and subcontractors, the operation of stationary and equipment and the movement of mobile equipment.

Must be able to operate tools and equipment safety

Use of personal protection equipment is required.

Minimum Qualifications & Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred

Must be 18 years in age or older

Minimum 1 year Asphalt industry experience

Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Possess a valid drivers license
