Why join us?We are looking for a mid level Electrical Engineer with experience in solid-state lighting. The candidate will be responsible for working on new product designs, developing innovative LED based lighting fixtures and will provide guidance on electrical components and controls to our Engineering, Sales and Marketing and Production teams.

Job DetailsQualiications5 years of hands-on experience in solid-state lighting, working on drivers, controls and LED components. Experience in application engineering is a PLUSIn-depth understanding of single and multi-channel drivers including operating, testing, selection and networking.Ability to design and select proper lighting component combinations (light source, driver, controller) for luminaires based on the application requirements.Understanding of LED lighting control systems including dimming/control methods, color tuning and color mixing.Proficiency with hands-on bench-top testing of power supplies, LEDs and other luminaire components.Broad experience with teams integrating electronics packaging, thermal management and aesthetic requirements.Must have excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.Experience with wireless technologies (such as Bluetooth)Experience with photometry, goniophotometer and ies files is a PLUSExperience with UL safety certifications for LEd luminaires is a PLUSProficient in creating wiring diagrams and cable harness drawings using CAD software.Have an aptitude for the mechanical construction of products and be eager to learn new 3D CAD skills (Inventor/Solidworks) with on the job training.ResponsibilitiesSignificantly contributing to the overall ideation, architecture and design of luminaires by integrating best in class LEDs, Controls and Electronics.Researching, prototyping and cresting designs utilizing electronics, reliability and regulatory solutions while managing project timelines.Developing product test plans to validate warranty, regulatory certification (UL,CSA), feature validation and interoperability which will achieve customers expectations.Provides expert support for customers as it pertains to field applications of products. Ability to travel (10%) to customer sites for installation or problem solving.Manages the company electronic inventory portfolio, working closely with the Purchasing Dept. to coordinate inventory and production changes.Engineering liaison to the RMA Dept.Work closely with component suppliers and manufacturing partners to coordinate the electronic design aspects of production.Use electronic testing equipment for qualification testing, such as an Oscilloscope.Prepare wiring diagrams and schematics for driver boxes and fixturesPrepare engineering specifications and qualification plans for electrical designsPCB design layoutCircuit schematicsInterested in hearing more?
