You'll get to:

  • Be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of our LISTA facility and our company Stanley Black & Decker.
  • Review the operation of sheet metal machining equipment and fabrication systems constantly within the facility, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement. Ultimately adding robustness to how we plan PMs and what parts we stock and repair.
  • Direct and inspect facilities for regulatory compliance and works with both Plant EH&S and Environmental agencies / Vendors to align our efforts and goals accordingly.
  • Assess and monitor facility repairs to ensure cost effectiveness; establishes criteria for repair versus replacement of facilities
  • Lead the controls and operating system strategy for plant equipment. Assists Plant Mechanics and Electricians with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Plans, develop, and prioritize projects and weekly work plans; ensures that materials are ordered, projects are designed and planned, and budgets adhered to. Must possess excellent project management and process management skills.
  • Coordinate and monitor status of work orders; estimates, requests, and purchases materials and equipment; and estimates labor costs
  • Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
  • Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Supervise shop operations and coordinates financially responsibly with outside vendors and contractors to ensure safe and efficient repairs, installations, or moves of equipment. Experience with outside vendors and contractors required.
  • Plant Security, video monitoring, and Interfaces with outside Security Company and vendors.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position supervises Maintenance Mechanics, Electricians, and oversees vendors and contractors while on site.
  • Ensures that Maintenance Technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Plans, develops and prioritizes projects and weekly work plans for the team; ensures that materials are ordered, projects are designed and planned, and budgets adhered to, with the ultimate goal being a safe, productive, and efficient Operation.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent a must.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years proven experience in supervisory capacity in manufacturing, assembly, fabrication or a production control environment.
  • Must possess good people management skills.
  • Experience with automation and vendor contractor coordination a must.
  • A Lean Manufacturing background, and 5S and/or 6 Sigma experience a plus.
  • Electrical background/PLC experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of robotics and welding automation preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing equipment & processes, maintenance & repair, planning, scheduling
  • Knowledge of steel manufacturing, primarily metal stamping, punching, welding, and bending, a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities concurrently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to accommodate occasional off-shift requirements and to be on call for emergencies
