Product Designer location: New York, NYDuration: 12+ months contract + extension

Job Description:A New York City services company is currently seeking an experienced Product Designer for a promising Remote position with their growing staff. In this role, the Product Designer (Remote) will be responsible for taking on complex tasks and transforming them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs for users around the world.

Responsibilities:The Product Designer (Remote) will:
  • Sketch, wireframe, prototype, and test designs early and often.
  • Partner with the Product, Engineering, and Editorial teams on creating working versions (prototype) designed to get user feedback
  • Work with other Designers to raise the quality bar and contribute to our design system of components, styles, and interactions
  • Partner with Product Managers to define a project roadmap that directs the entire team
  • Work closely with the Engineers to build, iterate on, and ship concepts
  • Partner with UX Researcher and Product Managers during the discovery phase to conduct user research and competitive analysis
  • Advocate product design processes, principles, and tools to colleagues
  • Create and manage UX documentation, including wireframes, storyboards, and sitemaps
  • Handle other duties, as needed

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Product Design experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a UX-related field (Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Research, or Graphic Design)
  • Experience in designing Mobile Interfaces from pre-launch to post-launch
  • Knowledgeable in Usability Testing Principles
  • Proficient in HTML/CSS
  • Well versed in design and UX software (e.g., Figma, Invision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Lucidchart)
  • Knowledgeable in Interaction Design and Information Architecture
  • Strong portfolio of Design projects
  • Solid understanding of Website Usability/Web Optimization, UX, and Responsive Designs
  • Solid analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of JavaScript
