Requisition Number: 212723 Cox Communications is looking for a Senior Manager of Cyber Recovery who will report to the Director of Cyber and Disaster Recovery. This person will set the strategy and lead this function with the primary objective being to safeguard our business from the increasing risk of Cyber-attacks including ransomware. This person will champion and work with other teams in implementation of technologies and controls that will ensure the protection and recoverability of our mission critical applications and data. This person will define the vision and drive best practices pertaining to Cyber across Technology and business functions. Creation of and ensuring adherence to Cyber policies and procedures for ongoing operations as well as new applications will be a primary responsibility. There are many other strategic programs that the Security Organization will be leading or supporting including new applications and technology capabilities and the Senior Manager of Cyber Recovery will be a key contributor in these efforts. Aligning business engagement in Cyber activities including testing along with awareness and training will be key focus areas.

Primary responsibilities and essential duties:
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Cyber Recovery program strategy for safeguarding Coxs mission critical applications, infrastructure and data
  • Champion and partner with other teams in implementation of recovery enabling technology capabilities and related controls including a secure backup vault solution, out of band network access and dark IP network protection
  • Lead, develop and provide direction to employees/contractors in achieving the vision of the Cyber program
  • Work with management in setting individual, team, project and ongoing operational goals for the program
  • Provide proactive consultancy and drive collaboration and partnership with Technology and business personnel regarding best practices and ongoing support of Cyber protection objectives
  • Responsible for building, maintaining and ensuring the annual refresh of Cyber Recovery playbooks, policies and other related documentation
  • Lead annual testing & certification of Cyber Recovery capabilities
  • Lead/partner with other teams in implementation and maintenance of Cyber monitoring, alerting and reporting capabilities enabling early threat detection and mitigation
  • Design & implement program KPIs & metrics that provide clear visibility into Coxs Cyber Recovery readiness posture
  • Ensure recovery strategies are aligned with business goals and meet defined recovery objectives as stated in BIAs
  • Provide leadership and guidance related to troubleshooting and triage of any Cyber events
  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees regarding career path goals; mentor and coach direct reports to ensure ongoing success in their roles; deliver employee reviews and performance evaluations
  • Ensure financial targets and budgets are met
  • Communicate and escalate risks to business stakeholders for remediation or acceptance
  • Lead special programs and projects providing overall leadership for initiatives at Cox Communications as assigned
  • Demonstrate a focus on results and drive initiatives to successful conclusion
  • Create an inclusive work environment
  • Maintain an open and ongoing communication with staff
  • Drive collaboration with CEI and all other Cox divisions as needed
  • Lead business awareness and training

Qualifications:

Minimum:
  • 5+ years of experience working as a manager of Cyber or related technology function
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in delivering mission critical system availability and associated recovery techniques
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills with the ability to write policies, procedures and recovery plans
  • Experience setting strategy and providing guidance to IT and business personnel
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, presentation, organizational and collaboration skills
  • Able to communicate and work effectively with, influence and make recommendations to all levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to drive consensus and collaboration across diverse teams, individuals and functional groups to achieve desired business results
  • Experience escalating risks to senior technology or business leadership
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage budgetary responsibilities, prioritize work and complete assigned projects on time and on budget

Preferred :
  • One relevant industry certification - CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CBCP
  • Subject Matter Expertise in security frameworks such as ISO 27000, NIST 800-53, NIST CyberSecurity Framework, SSAE 16 SOC1/SOC2/SOC3, and PCI Data Security Standard
  • BS/BA degree required (i.e., Computer Science/Engineering, Business, etc.)
  • Experience in the telecommunications, financial services, defense or government industries desired
  • Big four audit/consulting background
