Staff Accountant/CPA

Fast-paced, professional and positive accounting firm is looking for an experienced accountant to help manage the books for multiple clients. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications:

Strong customer service skills

3 to 5 years of experience

Aptitude to manage in a diverse fast moving environment

Impeccable organizational skills

Excellent customer service and relationship building skills

Good verbal and written communications skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Quickbooks

10-Key by touch

Decision making skills and common sense

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Upbeat, positive attitude and strong work ethic

Essential Job Functions:

Basic Journal Entries Creating, Adjusting and Entering of journal entries into client/internal accounting software.

Transactional Accounting - General Bookkeeping responsibilities, including managing AP, AR and Payroll.

Period Closing Provide complete, accurate and timely period closing.

Assist in Tax Preparation Work with client to complete Tax Organizers in a timely fashion and preparing returns for review.

Bill Pay Set up bill pay process for clients.

Account Management Ensuring clients are receiving the intended value of the services provided through consistent communication and follow up.

Deadline Management Reference financial calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.

Willingness to learn and keep learning.

Requirements

2-5 years of Accounting and Payroll experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Moderate accounting software systems knowledge (QuickBooks, Excel)

Driver's License in good standing

Desired:

Experience in Payroll, Construction Accounting and Non-Profit Accounting

CPA Candidate and/or Quickbooks Proadvisor preferred.
