Sr Security Engineer II

Uber's Enterprise Security Team is looking for a hands-on Senior Software Development Engineer to help us deliver on our several key initiatives for the company in the software and security engineering spaces. Through your work, you will dramatically improve our security posture through efforts in the following areas: Endpoint hardening of Macs, PCs, Linux boxes, production servers, network equipment, SaaS, etc. Compliance monitoring Device Attestation Network Security Data Loss Prevention Shadow IT identification and remediation Audit & Compliance support Email security EDR Malware scanningThrough your commitment to software and security engineering , you'll help our team as we bring tooling to Uber that protects our systems. Regardless of whether it's a workstation, 3rd party SaaS solution, server, or a network device , we need countermeasures and visibility to every threat to every Uber system and endpoint.What You'll Do Designing and developing new security solutions to further Uber's security goals Assist with investigations and identification of necessary remediations Select, configure, and deploy 3rd party s/wBasic Qualifications 10+ years of demonstrated experience in software engineering Experience with distributed systems Experience with front and back end s/w development Experience with 1 or more modern s/w development languages Extensive experience (5+ years) designing and implementing large enterprise grade backend systems that scale flawlessly.Preferred QualificationsIn addition to the basic qualifications: Experience across a diverse swath of security domain areas (some but not all required): Endpoint hardening Email threat detection & remediation SSO (SAML/OpenIDC) Cryptography Experience with Threat Based Defense Experience building countermeasures based on the kill chain or ATT&CK Framework Familiarity with operating system internals and hardening Experience developing, deploying, and configuring security services and tools Understanding of authentication, authorization, and directory servicesAt Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion.
