Job Description:The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with proficiency in core business and educational platforms including Office 365, AD, Azure and Exchange Online. The qualified candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying cloud-based systems to support Client staff and students. The position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in achieving our critical mission objectives. Specifically, the candidate must be able to provide technical leadership and expertise on education and business systems solutioning and configurations, while interacting with, and supporting staff, students, and other technical personnel. The Senior Systems Engineer will be the Office 365 and Azure AD SME and lead targeted efforts in gaining technical consensus and executing Office 365 and Azure strategies for the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of Azure cloud systems and applications to ensure their ongoing availability, stability, and compliance with established standards and security requirements.
  • Works closely with various system administrators and business application owners on SSO, data and systems integrations.
  • Develop secure automated solutions for administrative and domain management tasks using PowerShell.
  • Creates, administers, and supports Office 365, Azure and Exchange policies.
  • Assists in administering business critical education platforms such as Clever, Canvas, Gaggle, and Adobe.
  • Responsible of MDM environment and associated policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for monitoring and resolving service desk incident, plan and coordinate upgrade and maintenance activities.
  • Provides Level 2 and 3 business and education platforms support to client staff and students.
  • Interfaces with Microsoft and other solution providers for any tier 3 support requirements.
  • Develop concise and accurate engineering and knowledgebase documentation including design plans, implementation guides, knowledge guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies risks and problems and conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
  • Works closely with the academic and education technology teams to gather requirements and implement solutions to meet desired outcomes.
  • Follows organizational change management processes and standard operating procedures to plan for and implement continuous improvements of the environment.
  • Will be available after hours and on weekends to respond to urgent requests and emergencies as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

A high degree of system-specific knowledge and a background in the various technologies and practices required by Client including:
  • MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
    • Azure AD
    • Azure VM’s
    • Office 365 applications including: Exchange Online
    • SharePoint Online
    • OneDrive For Business
    • Teams
    • Intune
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of PowerShell and the ability to create and maintain scripts for effective use with exchange/Office 365 and Azure environments
  • Experience with administration of hybrid environments in an enterprise setting.
  • Experience with the integration of Office 365 with 3rd party security and application tools.
  • Strong communication skills and experience partnering with senior IT and Program leadership. Must be able to expresses key ideas and obtain tangible feedback from cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Agile and ITIL concepts.
