• Ensure very close collaboration and alignment with all stakeholders and other teams within the enterprise
• Work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand end user requirements, provide technical solutions and implement new software features
• Collaborate with business users from the Finance and Actuarial departments to collect, document and analyze user requirements Develop an understanding of the business use cases for the solution
• Gather business requirements from the stakeholders and create documents such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), wireframes, or process flows for solution development
• Assess and prioritize feature requests
• Design and develop functional and analytical prototypes in Python
• Review front-end and back-end design and facilitate discussion with front-end and data developers on overall process Document report formats, data mappings and calculation logic
• Defining and managing the data store supporting data transfer from our source systems through to the target system Establish controls within the codebase and work on performance tuning and improvement
• Ensure internal controls are adhered to (e.g., change controls, storing source code and documentation) Ensure appropriate levels of communication and transparency
• Believe and adhere to the principles of traceability and best practice in an Agile manner Support planning/project management
• Iteratively improve solutions and Proofs of Concept through consultation and validation with Finance, Actuarial and reporting SMEs Be an advocate for best practice, success and excellence
• Constantly challenge the status quo and look for areas of improvement Resolve errors and issues uncovered in the testing process
• Ensure any environment issues which make development less efficient
• Work with experts to monitor performance of our production reports, and implement any necessary changes to improve it, including small fixes, and large architectural changes
• Put in place any product upgrades, coordinate and work with other teams as needed to test and implement the upgrades As needed, coordinate with cyber, regulatory and audit teams to ensure all necessary processes and controls are in place Communicate and coordinate any larger issues and mitigation plans with the appropriate management

• 2+ years of experience in either Finance or Actuarial science with a cross-over to IT development demonstrate an analytical approach and mindset
• Ability to quickly learn new business concepts and programming language such as python Ability to synthesize business concepts and develop codebase for underlying process/logic Basic understanding of insurance concepts
• A solid foundation in data (e.g., integrity, governance, architecture, extraction, manipulation, storing, mining)
• A solid understanding in underlying data flows and data structures, coupled with insurance concepts within the data Working with data sets (transformations, linking/integrating, quality etc.) using python for data processing Documenting and understanding use cases, requirements for prototype development adopting an agile approach
• Experience working in an Agile environment and having experience with Agile frameworks including principles and practices

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in any of the following: Finance with technology, General commerce, business administration, mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Python experience is an asset but not necessary as is hands on experience with Django, Flask or other Python frameworks Work experience related to Insurance domain
• A track record of managing projects and project teams to successful, on-time completion Experience in a internal customer facing role
• Accounting Standard and prior insurance experience is a plus Aptitudes
• Teamwork: sharing common goals, communications, collaboration / joint problem-solving Interviewing and/or group facilitation
• Ability to handle constantly changing priorities between projects and prod support

• Experience working in an agile environment that uses Scrum and, or Kanban Experience working with onshore / offshore teams
• Experience with Python and Python library "Pandas"
• An understanding of Project Management principles and practices
