Software Engineer

Description SAIC is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented individual with software engineering experience to work with an important customer to help their development efforts meet mission needs. The successful candidate will bring experience in software engineering, computer networking and distributed system development (e.g. REST, Java RMI, CORBA, XML-RPC, etc) and experience working on medium or large software development teams. Required Skills/Functions

• Creating, coordinating and communicating overarching plans and strategies for the integration and development of an automated system that unifies dozens of disparate systems. This effort will require the design and coordinated implementation of a global API across these projects which can then be used by the automated system
• Meeting with software development teams to discuss and help make decisions on software technologies used in the development of systems
• Coordinating and reporting on timelines across a multitude of diverse projects
• Working with development teams to set milestones and establish regular release cycles, both individually and across teams
• Working with development teams to adopt customer-focused software development lifecycles and patterns by tracking development tasks and bug fixes
• Working with development teams to adopt software documentation practices for APIs
• Working with development teams to create and execute rigorous test plans

• Active TS/SCI with Poly
• 15 years of total software engineering experience with a BS degree
• 10 years of working on software development teams of 5-10 people or larger
• 5 years of Agile experience (e.g. Scrum, DevOps, Test-Driven Development, Feature-Driven Development)
