RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client, a growing technology company in the Tempe, AZ area is seeking a Senior RF Sustaining Engineer. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager. They will work directly with development team, Production, Supply Chain, Suppliers, and Customers and will drive analysis of quality and reliability data and obsolescence/material, component availability management activities and drive component selection and qualification activity. Responsibilities: Understand the detailed analysis and design of RF (from VHF through millimeter-wave) and mixed-signal communications hardware components (front ends, IF sections, phase-lock loops, Aloops, synthesizers) Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that the designs meet the customers electrical, environmental as well as internal manufacturing requirements and standards Reviews Quality Control directive (QCD) test data to approve or reject alternate components to be used on a qualified product Material Review Board Approves or rejects Non-compliant material from vendors Find solutions for obsolete components. Look at design and understand how and replace comp and when find replacement go to tech and have them build it and then take data and see if it meets specs or not Approves or rejects non-compliant material found during production Approves or rejects Engineering Notices of proposed changes originating from production of a change to an assembly documentation package Create change notices to implement the approved QCD into the production Support -end of life- status on components to find alternates or design changes Also support production- if component failed- help solve issues, write ECO's, etc. Work closely with the Supply Chain teams to support component availability and alternates of suitable componentsREQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, MSEE degree is a plus 5-10+ years of previous experience in RF microwave/millimeter-wave design Develop screening and qualification plan for alternate components to meet customer spec's and performance requirements Review test data to assure it meets customer spec's Knowledge of RF/Microwave theory; Systems architecture, RF architecture, RF/Microwave circuit design; Detailed knowledge of RF and mixed-signal design techniques and technologies, including receivers, frequency converters, synthesizers, and transmitters, mixers, amplifiers, PLLs, low phase noise VCOs, filters, etc., from DC > 40Ghz; Magnetic circuit analysis. Ideally would be someone who has designed in the past but wants a more relaxed role where they just support production and design Read and interpret technical documents including schematics, datasheets, and test procedures Use AutoCAD software for drafting Working knowledge of component, reliability, MIL Specs and MIL Standards Experience working in a cross-functional team environment Understanding of wafer lot qualification, transistor dies, tin whisker growth mitigation process is a plusKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
