NIC Federal is currently looking to hire a Quality Assurance / Test Engineer to assist with an important new digital government project, bringing together technology, payment processing, and marketing. You will join a team responsible for bringing a new digital service online, from prototype to execution and on-going innovation and delivery.NIC Federal is currently seeing applicants for a Quality Assurance / Test Engineer for our Arlington, VA location. We are looking for:An experienced software developer who loves writing automated testing solutions and is never fully satisfied with a job well done. College education is excellent, and certifications look cool on a resume, but you will qualify because of your love for software development, DevOps, and your drive to advance technology through consistent personal and team knowledge growth. We are looking for talented innovators and dreamers who excel at collaboration, innovation, and good times.You will report to the director of development and work closely with the existing QA team as well as the software developers and IT/OPS team. Your mission will be to prevent regression and ensure ongoing stability to all production applications. You will also be helping lay the groundwork for current developers to work with you to grow our automated testing capacity and its effectiveness.
  • Programming experience a must
    • Strong QA candidates without development experience are not acceptable for this role.
  • Test Automation
    • Writing code to test code: UI and API level testing
    • Creating, modifying, or designing test frameworks
    • Good: Selenium, NUnit, MSTest, etc.
  • SDLC and Software Processes
    • Agile/Scrum a plus
  • QA interest / enthusiasm / experience
    • Created Test Cases, Test Plans
    • Debug / troubleshoot issues that you found (deep dive)
    • Bug reporting / triage / prioritization
    • Responsible for guiding quality on production release
    • Functional, load, stress, user interaction testing
