Title: Senior Palo Alto Firewall Engineer

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Duration/Type of Job: 6 Months - CTH

Job Description:Design, build, and manage the security infrastructure of information technology (IT) systems. Installing hardware, configuring firewalls, setting up virtual private networks (VPNs), and adding upgrades. Engage with clients, relaying information about the project and troubleshooting all issues discovered. Proficient in change management and disaster response, and actively apply policies and standards to all projects. Work closely with network and security teams. Perform maintenance at unobtrusive times or resolve critical issues.

Typical Duties:
  • Review client requirements for security systems and collaborate with other engineers and developers to decide on an overall technical approach.
  • Palo Alto HA pair next generation best practice assessment of current firewall deployment
  • Create specific designs.
  • Direct the installation of both the software and hardware components of firewalls along with other portions of security infrastructure.
  • Configure firewalls for usage, manage their day-to-day operations, and perform regular maintenance through upgrades and patches.
  • Monitor security devices and applications for performance problems and provide troubleshooting support for clients.
  • Write extensive documentation on procedures, device statuses, firewall block lists, and other important technical areas.
  • Create diagrams of network topologies and record details of troubleshooting processes.
  • Define processes for compliance, enforce quality control and ensure that all output meets project requirements.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in computer networking, especially with firewall technologies.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • Firewall and Load Balancer experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancer Certification.
