Olympic Angels exists for one reason - to radically improve the experience of foster care for children and families on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. After nearly two years of program success, we are ready to hire a deeply motivated leader to step into the Executive Director role that is essential for growth, organizational health, and transformative outcomes for kids.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Olympic Angels is growing quickly, grounded in an entrepreneurial mentality. Here you will find a level of intention and drive that is unusual among nonprofits. We have far exceeded our 2020 goals and are financially and functionally strong. We are looking for a skilled leader who can help guide our team and take our organization’s operations, management, and growth to the next level. They will shift the organization from a start-up phase to one focused on growth, and lead our expansion westward from Jefferson County into Clallam County.

The Executive Director will be capable of coordinating people internally and externally, demonstrating values that drive an organizational culture of transparency, accountability, care, and results. You will provide strategic foresight and leadership in governance, programs, finance, and operations. The right person will be someone who can learn new things very quickly, enjoys solving problems, and is committed to growing the people around them.

SCOPE

The Executive Director is a leader responsible for overseeing all operations, providing day-to-day oversight of the organization and staff in line with strategic goals and our business and work plans. They report to the Board of Directors.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE

High integrity leadership and commitment to transparency

5+ years experience in a leadership role managing a team

Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree preferred

Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to convey mission imperatives and strategic vision to staff, partners, volunteers, and donors

Solid, hands-on budget management skills, including preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting

Savvy to the influence of media and marketing

Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation

Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector preferred

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Willingness to work some evenings and weekends, with occasional travel

WAGES & BENEFITS

We are a young organization with a growing budget. The Executive Director must be entrepreneurial, be willing to start where we are, and achieve clear targets to grow your salary to a level at or above area norms. Our commitment to you includes:

A starting salary of $60,000/yr

A clear set of performance-based targets that offers the potential to quickly (within 6-12 months) elevate to a base salary of $80,000/yr and a retirement savings matching program (401k)

$800/month health care stipend

$1000/yr professional development allowance

$1800 moving allowance and assistance locating housing if needed for relocation
