Our client is a comfort-focused lifestyle brand. They are constantly on a mission to add smart, innovative, and fun-loving team members and are looking for a Front-End Developer to come join the New York-based headquarters.Reporting to the Senior Director of Technology the Front-End Developer will be working on some of the most exciting customer-facing projects in the business. The client is creating an exciting new approach to men's & women 's apparel in e-commerce. The ideal candidate should have
experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including UX, UI and translating stakeholder expectations into exceptional customer experiences. Driving e-commerce means having a strong focus on the user and their experience, from loading optimization and page speed to interactivity and assisting with decision making. Responsibilities:- Create a new front end, user-facing content within the e-commerce site
- Build reusable code and libraries for scaling into the future
- Use the 3rd party platforms to rapidly iterate on new ideas and launch user-facing tests
- Develop advanced solutions to front-end challenges
- Work with HTML5, CSS3, JS, JSON, Graphql, Vue, React, and other technologies to create advanced, seamless experiences
- Strong ability to work with Version Control
- Collaborate with UX, Design, Merch, Marketing, and eComm to design, build and launch solutions
- Make recommendations to improve development practices, technology, code branching, release management, front-end features, and overall team and business effectiveness
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent job experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Front-end/ Full-stack developer
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery, Liquid templating language
- Good understanding of Vue, React asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Experience developing in one of the eComm platforms Shopify, BigCommerce, Commerce Cloud, etc.
- Knowledge of Git practices or other version control software
- Proficient at working with agile methodologies (i.e., poker planning, sprints, Jira)
- Proven ability to write clear and concise documentation
- Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Figma is a plus
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Good understanding of SEO principles and best practices
- Ability to work with cloud platforms: Heroku, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
