Qualifications Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.

Responsibilities Peraton is searching for a full time Systems Administrator to join our team as we maintain and support the next generation of applications for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile program. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the operating environment that consists of Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux. He or she will help manage the classified lab by ensuring the software development and test environments are in their proper configuration. This is an outstanding opportunity for a tech-minded person who is passionate about using leading edge tools for the team to reliably deliver our products to our customers.Essential Duties and Areas of Responsibility
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization (Microsoft and Red Hat)
  • Ensuring that our software environments are running the latest versions/builds of our third-party integrators/co-developers
  • Install and upgrade computer hardware components and software
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to management and IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of developer and tester environments
  • Lead support efforts, making sure all server/desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Help plan for future needs both software and hardware
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience desired
  • 3-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, Hyper-V, RHEV, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting, automation tools (Ansible etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices
  • Ability to work with various IT stakeholders: SW Development, Operations, Corporate IT
  • An existing security clearance to at least the level of SECRET is highly desired
