Childcare Center Custodian

At Peacock Family Services, children from one to six years old are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a nurturing environment, lovingly guided by our highly skilled, professional teachers. We are currently looking for an experienced custodian interested in supporting our learning environment.

As a member of our facility team, this person will work independently at end of day to maintain health and safety aspects of our Child Development Center. The scope of work should dictate 15 hours/week, with flexible timing. Our Custodian will have proven cleaning, interpersonal, and communication skills that support the goals and mission of the organization.

Supervised by: Childcare Director and Site Manager

Responsibilities include:

Training and clear expectations will be provided on a continuing basis.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the classrooms, halls, bathroom, and outdoor play areas. Deep clean as needed.

Clean and prepare the Child Development Center in accordance with Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and Department of Health requirements.

Contribute to a healthy and welcoming atmosphere in the building

Communicate the restocking of related supplies

Uphold excellent staff communication

Qualifications required:

Proof of negative TB test (before hire)

Registry with Washington State DCYF STARS/MERIT (before first day)

Current Department of Children, Youth, and Families Background Check (before first day)

Food Handler’s Permit (arranged after hire)

CPR/First Aid certification (arrange after hire)

HIV/Blood Borne Pathogen course certification (training provided)
