Refrigeration Mechanical Assistant

Summary: Responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair and operation of the refrigeration system, engine rooms and cold rooms.

Job requirements:

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, up to 7 days a week during peak seasons

Work alternating weekends on a “on-call” basis, two weekends on followed by two weekends off

Be “on-call” 7 days a week, if required

Must be punctual and dependable

Ability to work independently

Must be able to access system through cell phone

Preferred Skills & Duties:

Ammonia awareness—Rebuild B.P.R., Replace float switches, solenoid valves

Understand Electrical Voltage 220—480—279—120

Oversee compressors, oil, head pressure, and suction

Daily checks of refrigeration rooms & fans

Understanding of mechanical fundamentals

Computer knowledgeable

Maintenance and cleaning of engine rooms, as needed

Other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements/Skills:

Valid Driver’s license

Ability to drive a forklift

Knowledge of Controlled Atmosphere (CA) test equipment

Ability to use needed mechanic tools

Pre-employment Drug/Alcohol test

Pre-employment Background check

Some experience preferred, but not required.
