- Evangelize software engineering design and development standards
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and product demonstrations
- Produce efficient and elegant code that meets business requirements
- Author unit tests that adhere to code coverage guidelines
- Proactively communicate progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders
- Accurately estimate assignments
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Mentor less experienced engineers
- Participate in the recruiting process
- Contribute to the growth and maturity of the Software Engineering group
- Performs other related duties as directed
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 10 or more years related work experience
- Prior experience with a product-based company preferred
- Write code that is optimized for efficiency
- Apply techniques that drive the creation of elegant, easy to maintain code
- Possess exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Drive compliance of the code review process as both a requestor and reviewer
- Learn from the feedback of others and apply that knowledge to future work
- Decompose work into logical units and provide accurate estimates for assignments
- Apply appropriate risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Act with a sense of urgency and concern for the customer
- Experience using Git, TFS or other source control tools
- Knowledge of DevOps, test automation and CI/CD best practices
- Desire and ability to learn new languages and technologies as needed
- Experience working as a part of a Scrum team
