PURPOSE

The Receptionist and Medical Biller is the primary point-of-contact for clients at our North Bend Youth & Family Services (YFS) outpatient offices. This position gathers client demographic information and requests for mental health and substance use disorder treatment, coordinates the flow of case assignments and appointment scheduling. This position is responsible for the daily operations of clients’ accounts including pre-authorization, verification of benefits, eligibility, collecting payment & setting up payment arrangements with clients, collection phone calls & claim follow-up.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Maintain the administrative functions at the North Bend YFS outpatient offices by answering phone calls and providing resource referrals to callers.

Manage the coordination of services, including updating client information in the electronic health record system, managing appointment calendar, and sending clients appointment reminders.

Supports the Business Manager in maintaining billing and insurance company claims; use online insurance eligibility tool to verify client insurance, communicate coverage, and coordinate financial arrangements.

Coordinate with the Billing and Accounting Departments regarding program-related financial matters.

Oversee collections, including processing and posting payments from clients, providing statements and receipts, and performing end of day credit card reporting procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a clinical setting with an emphasis on intake and referral systems required.

Medical Billing Certification from AAPC or AHIMA, or Medical Billing/Coding Degree preferred.

1+ year of previous medical billing experience preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

$21.09 per hour. SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

Full-time, non-exempt; schedule is Monday-Friday from 10 am to 6:30 pm. May be required to work evenings as job duties demand. Work is performed in-person/onsite at outpatient offices located in North Bend, WA.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check and satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.

Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens training, and de-escalation and restraint training.
