Our 30 stores in visitor centers across Alaska are education gateways to Alaska’s parks, forests, and refuges. We offer the best books, trail guides, maps, and unique local gifts to enhance and extend the visitor experience. Revenue from our store sales is returned to the public lands to support education programs, stewardship projects, and youth programs.

The Sales Rep is responsible for the daily operations at the Denali National Park and Preserve Alaska Geographic retail store. Housing is available for a small fee.

Duties include:

-Providing exceptional customer service to guests, partners, and coworkers.

-Be a positive representative of Alaska Geographic and its Partners to visitors.

-Maintain a positive working relationship with our partner, the National Park Service. Partners are considered our customers and should be treated with the utmost professionalism.

-Working with the sales team to meet or exceed daily/weekly sales and membership goals

-Support Alaska Geographic Membership/Donation goals by promoting program benefits to customers and answering questions and working with Alaska Geographic Membership/Donation staff as appropriate.

-Proactively stock store shelves and prepare products for sale

-Help monitor product levels on the sales floor, including: work closely with Branch Manager to ensure product stay stocked within acceptable levels, and inventory received/transferred paperwork is done and turned in.

-Use the Square POS system

-Reconcile cash drawers daily

-Practice responsible/approved cash handling techniques

-Alaska Geographicemployees must follow HR policies, guidelines, and procedures as stated in the Employee -Manual and Retail Training Manual.

-Other duties as assigned.

-The Sales Rep reports to the Branch and Assistant Managers at their location.

Desired skills, licenses:

-Proactively problem solve quickly and implement solutions.

-Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written form.

-POS system experience preferred.

-Valid driver’s license and/or independent mode of transportation.

-Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 15 pounds to a shelf height of 5 feet.

-High School Degree or equivalent required.
