Cryptography, Cloud Security Engineer

Pareto Solutions Group has an opening for a Cryptography Engineer, that will be part of a security team responsible for building and designing solutions across a diverse set of on-premise and cloud environments. As a member of the team, you should be prepared to implement solutions first and establish best practices early to build and modernize our client’s public key infrastructure, authentication solutions, secrets management, and related project work.

• Bachelor’s degree required, In Information Security, Cybersecurity, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
• Advanced degree in related applied cryptography or secure systems design field a plus
• Practical experience with 3+ years in related Security Engineering and/or Applied Cryptography Developer or Research roles
• Strong working knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and cryptographic standards such as TLS, IKE/IPsec, S/MIME, OAuth, etc.
• Expertise in supporting or building PKI system components such as HSM pairs, operational cert authorities, key management services, and similar foundational cryptographic systems.
• Experience implementing secrets management solutions for cloud environments supporting composite/bring your own key concepts through KMS and Key Vault services
• Experience in defining and creating IAM strategy to anchor authn/authz within both cloud and on-premise contexts.
• Experience required in building or contributing to tools written in Python.
• Strong working knowledge of git-based repos is required.
• Experience implementing or building sample clients for provider APIs is a plus.
• PowerShell, Go, or Rust, also a plus.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and proactive, critical thinking skills
• Excellent communications skills
