DescriptionAbout this roleSummaryOver the last several years, BlackRock's Finance organization has made significant progress in creating a common technology infrastructure to enable all of Finance and manage the firm.Now, as we look forward, we are once again making a once-in-a-generation investment in our data and technology infrastructure - with the migration of our core enterprise management systems to the cloud as its centerpiece. This investment creates an opportunity to modernize our data infrastructure; implement self-service dashboards and enhanced analytics for managing the firm; streamline the core processes, across Finance functions, through which we run the firm; and evolve the way we operate and spend time.We are looking for an Analyst or Associate that will help connect business problems with technology solutions. This visible role is of great strategic importance to the firm.What this role will do:
  • Architect and develop end-to-end interactive analytics solutions
  • Regularly partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement needs
  • Automate data pipelines that source data from relational databases, flat files, APIs, and more
  • Design and develop Tableau dashboards that tell a story
  • Maintain data pipelines, existing Tableau dashboards, and rationalize and improve upon both
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Technical curiosity as demonstrated in or outside of work
  • Proficiency in Python and with data analytics libraries like pandas
  • Proficiency in Tableau
  • Confidence working directly with databases and building complex yet efficient SQL queries
  • Familiarity with git and Unix systems
  • Experience with TM1 / Planning Analytics a plus
  • Experience working in or with FP&A a plus
  • A clear communicator with a knack for making complex things simple
