Field Engineer / Technician for their

Edwards Air Force Base located in

California.

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, modify and troubleshoot items such as cockpits, image generators, monitors, and displays.
  • Assemble, modify and troubleshoot the JSE communications systems to include computers, Ethernet, and Fiber Optic networks.
  • Assemble, modify and troubleshoot communications and data systems support structures.
  • Assemble, modify and troubleshoot all hardware associated with the JSE virtual and simulation environment systems and sub-systems.
  • Coordinate with engineers on the design of systems to include assisting with developing layouts and constructs of the electronic hardware required for simulation control and interface of cockpit systems.
  • Assist in developing and performing operations and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Assist engineering teams with root cause analysis.
  • Assists with implementing training and mentorship programs.
  • Supports the daily operation of any planned, corrective, or preventative maintenance events within the JSE environment.
  • Supports design reviews and technical exchange working groups.
  • Supports test planning events and provides inputs as required.
  • Reviews equipment instructions, blueprints, electrical and mechanical schematics.

Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline or formal academic/vocational/military training.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the specialty field.
  • Interpret building blue prints, electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Build and test Ethernet cables.
  • Experience using test equipment such as: Ethernet cable tester, Digital multi meter.
  • Trouble shoot and maintain Projection/video systems.
  • Basic computer networking skills with some administrative tasks.
  • VoIP system experience and trouble shooting.
  • Experience with aircraft cockpits: HOTAS systems (Hands on throttle and stick).
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds and work in a hands on environment.
  • Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and possess a current state issued driver’s license.
