Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Technical Data AnalystPAE has an opportunity for Technical Data Analyst in Chicago, IL.

  • Document analysis and recommendations: review complaints, self-reports, breach notification reports, or other correspondence and evidence to determine whether the complaint, self-report or breach notification report indicates non-compliance with the HIPAA Security Rule.
  • Analyze responses from covered entities and business associates: evaluate responses to data and documentation requests from HIPAA covered entities and business associates and develop reports summarizing the analysis along with formulating recommendations for OCR to consider for future action.
  • Monitor corrective action plans: monitor CAPs submitted in accordance with the findings of a compliance review and make recommendations to assist OCR in determining if the covered entity or biases associate has fulfilled its responsibilities to achieve substantial compliance with the requirements of the Security Rule.
  • Expert in the development and evaluation of health information privacy policies and technologies, specifically regarding protected health information; de-identified / re-identified health information; limited data sets.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
  • Should be an expert with a PhD with 7 to 10 years of experience in the design and application of health information privacy protection models.
  • Preference for personnel who have experience developing guidance on de-identification for OCR.
  • Should have experience writing on this topic, as evidenced by articles in peer reviewed journals and other guidance materials.
  • Candidates must demonstrate mastery level skills designing, implementing, and troubleshooting applications, and making use of the software or technology for which consulting services are required.
  • It is extremely important that candidates demonstrate a successful history of difficult and complex problem-solving with respect to the appropriate systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
  • Litigation support experience helpful.
  • Some supervisory or managerial experience may be required.
