The Principal Systems Administrator will implement, maintain, and upgrade all levels of information systems, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment as well as display advanced troubleshooting and Active Directory skills. This individual integrates and supports high profile systems of the company such as Microsoft Exchange, Atlassian Products, Sharepoint, and other high end systems and concepts. The Prinicpal Systems Administrator will also make recommendations for hardware and software purchases, and implement data backup and recovery systems. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.This position reports to the Director of Information Technology

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Configuring and troubleshooting computer systems including installation of software.
  • Advanced configuring and troubleshooting skills of servers, active directory components and other advanced components and concepts
  • Working/assisting customers (Scaled employees) via phone, email and in person to resolve issues/concerns.
  • Organizing and prioritizing work tasks to meet department/company goals.
  • Strong skills of Unix/Linux Operating Systems is a plus.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science and 4+ years of related work experience or 8+ years of related work experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of and experience with Computer Hardware, Peripherals, (i.e. scanners and printers) and best practices for integration and troubleshooting hardware, software and Active Directory concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include a follow up/ status update mindset and excellent active listening skills
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, ADFS, and OIDC
  • Strong computer networking conceptual knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Possess or able to acquire the following within 6 months of hire date: DOD Clearance (Secret), and CompTIA Security + Certification
  • Skills in telemetry and embedded systems a plus
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP800 171 controls a plus

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ability to type with an acceptable proficiency (40 WPM)
  • Ability to push, lift and carry objects up to 40 lbs. for essential job duties (delivering computers, hardware, etc.)
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required (e.g., to operate computer keyboard)
  • Requires mobility (e.g., climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl)
  • Requires the ability to bend and reach
  • Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus
