Senior DevOps Engineer

Role: Senior SRE EngineerLocation: Corte Madera, CA (Onsite after Covid Subsides)

• You’ll work closely with the Development and QA teams to provide continuous improvement of existing features and rollout of new services, ensuring high availability of our platform.
• You’re comfortable with infrastructure and configuration, but also happy to roll up your sleeves, fix code, write tests, debug, and ship features.
• Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement SRE/DevOps solutions which includes reference architectures, estimates, and costing;
• Provide technical leadership, project guidance, and business development in various platform / enterprise technology areas;
• Advise business and technology delivery leadership on how to translate the client’s infrastructure and automation business requirements into executable technology solutions;
• Participation in customer’s workshops and provide presentations of the proposed solution;
• Act as a subject matter expert on SRE/DevOps best practices with Cloud Formation, Auto Scaling Groups, Build tools, Monitoring and Configuration Management.
• Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Enterprise Security;
• Acts as a technical liaison between clients, service engineering teams and support;
• Define common business and development processes, platform and tools usage for solutions and delivery.
• Review and audit of existing solution, design and system architecture;
• Perform profiling, troubleshooting of existing solutions and improving performance of the systems under coverage;
• Create technical documentation;

• BS/MS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Expert in Linux Operating System (Redhat, Amazon Linux, etc)
• 3+ years (Senior Role) of experience "doing" DevOps Architecture, including working at large scale with real, highly concurrent, user traffic environments.
• Extensive experience with platform/configuration automation tools (Kubernetes/ OpenStack/Puppet/Ansible/Chef)
• Excellent communication skills; demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences; own a collaborative, partnership mentality.
• Experience Continuous Delivery and DevOps strategy and roadmap.
• The most qualified candidate will have experience working with the following technologies:
• Experience with managing production environments on AWS or another cloud PaaS layer for enterprise systems and revenue bringing platforms (Ecommerce, Mobile and PoS)
• Own automation of the infrastructure platform and drive the development of new features for our cloud platform.
• Knowledge of latest emerging technologies, architectures, and trends
• Experience in Linux, Objective C, Android and Java.
• Experience supporting web applications (JavaScript & Java)
• Scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python, Bash, Awk, PHP)
• Elastic Cloud / Virtualization (SoftLayer, EC2, Rackspace Cloud, Hypervisor, VDI)
• Build Automation (Jenkins)
• Systems automation and provisioning frameworks (Chef, Puppet, etc)
• Large Scale Databases (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra, Hadoop, Etc)
• Caching strategy (CDN, Varnish, MemCached, Redis)
• Familiar with high availability strategies (haproxy, Global Traffic Management / Multiple Datacenters, GeoDNS, failable architecture)
• Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) support
• Monitoring systems and frameworks (Nagios, ELK, Graphite)
• Custom Alerts (Akamai, NetApp, Etc)
• Performance testing, analysis, tuning and improvements (NewRelic, Dynatrace, AppDynamics,Etc)
• Package management workflows (Aptitude/dpkg, Yum/RPM)
