About This Role

The

Sr. National Account Manager/National Account Director,

Trade Accounts is responsible for managing wholesale and associated specialty distributor channel for Biogen’s product portfolio as well as future pipeline products. This position will be responsible for strategic and tactical development of distribution of Biogen products via the wholesale trade channels. This position is responsible for the development and execution of business plans relevant to trade channels to include wholesalers and their specialty distribution subsidiaries.

Responsibilities include the development of business plans to ensure Biogen contracts are followed and all activities are focused and appropriately implemented to maximize market penetration and sales potential. The Sr. National Account Manager/Director of Trade should have existing relationships within the key account distributors and should be able to build relationships within the C-Suites of all trading partners. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Commercial Distribution.Responsible for the communication interface between field sales and marketing, which ensures the success of new product launches, sales tools, forecasting, analysis/tracking models and various marketing strategies and campaigns. Collaborate across Brand Teams, Market Access and Reimbursement, Finance, Legal and other functional teams to develop and implement novel tools/resources to ensure commercial success.Negotiation and Management of Wholesaler DSA agreements as well as any initiatives/issues. Manage existing agreements to ensure mutual compliance between wholesalers and Biogen. This includes all aspects of the contracts, including understanding of all of the terms and ability to educate internal stakeholders. Also responsible for reviewing and reconciling wholesaler DSA metrics and invoices to ensure accuracy. Responsible for conducting quarterly business review meetings with key wholesale accountsMaintain a high level of communication with external customers regarding Biogen’s product availability. This position will be responsible for communicating strategic direction and related concepts across internal and external customers. Utilize availability of trade data in order to communicate with all stake holders on trends impacting Biogen’s business. Identify opportunities to streamline gross to net.Manage all aspects of the business: tracking the supply chain, developing processes, procedures and construct reports for internal and external stakeholders. Manage internal and account management communication regarding Trade strategies and programs. Coordinate with Logistics on their management of product shipments, inventory levels of our products as well as expiry dating. Work with wholesalers to keep all state licenses information current.This position will participate in Wholesale and associated Specialty Distribution channel association meetings to increase knowledge of channel changes and opportunities. (HDMA, CBI, individual key wholesaler business conferences, etc.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Minimum 7-10 yrs experience in pharmaceutical Trade management
  • Strong knowledge of the data sets and capabilities that the Wholesale customers are able to provide
  • Strong analytical skill set
  • Ability to synthezie and educate leadership on business priorities in trade space
  • Strong understanding of Trade processes and pharmaceutical regulatory requirement
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Additional experiences across Pharmaceutical Sales and / or Marketing roles preferred
  • Experience managing contracts and updates holistically
  • Experience in establishing distribution strategies for new product launches
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
  • Strong compliance mindset
  • Contract negotiation skills and business planning skills required
