Full-Time In House Bookkeeper

Olympic Rockeries is currently looking for an in house Bookkeeper to join our outstanding team. We are a construction contractor and a retail rock & landscape supply that specializes in rockeries, retaining walls, land cleanup and land excavation.

Position would be for our Sumner, WA location

The person hired for this position will be in charge of our company’s bookkeeping and payroll as well as the responsibilities listed below. This candidate should be proficient with Quickbooks and must possess a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

- Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures

- Developing/maintaining office standards

- Maintaining records of financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts

- Maintenance of subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

- Balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries

- Maintaining a general ledger, transferring account summaries

- Preparing the trial balance, balancing the general ledger

- Filing reports and documents

- Maintaining historical records

- Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information/trends

- Studying and ensuring company compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legal requirements

- Generating/processing invoices

- Generating estimates/proposals

- Filing city and quarterly taxes

- Processing/running payroll

- Reporting research results

- Advising management as needed

Qualifications/Skills:

- Proficiency using Quickbooks

- Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience (2 years or more)

- Experience with payroll

- Understanding of SFAS rules

- Data entry skills

- Able to quickly analyze complex information

- Ability to complete and follow through with tasks in a thorough manner

- Ability to adhere to company confidentiality requirements
