Supply Chain Manager – San Carlos, CA

3-6 months Contract w/chance of conversionWe are seeking an experienced and driven Supply Chain Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced start-up. The successful candidate will manage the entire process in planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution. The Supply Chain/Logistics Manager will provide direct support, implementation and development of the end to end processes for a very fast growing, high-performance oriented organization.

Tasks & Responsibilities: Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of assigned resources onsite at our client’s Headquarters in San Carlos, CA Responsible for warehousing and inventory management of product(s) and all aspects of organizational shipping and logistics. Optimize and manage the entire process, including planning of procurement and supply chain activities, inventory control, logistics and distribution, ensuring effectively functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities Ensure effective lines of communication between all internal business partners to ensure priority requirements, timely delivery of goods using the most appropriate procurement procedures Manage relationships with internal departments, partners, vendors, suppliers, and contractors that facilitate smooth flow of services and own order-to-delivery Responsible for introducing process improvements in the supply chain and identify new vendors/suppliers without jeopardizing quality and service delivery or costly revalidation of material substitutions Lead, drive and sustain continuous improvement utilizing established tools and methodologies. Ensure satisfactory job performance of the team and achieve business financial objectives set for assigned areas to create economic growth for the company by following all pertinent compliance and regulatory/quality requirements Develop plans to initiate and provide adequate expertise to support business objectives, revenue and profitability targets as the business grows and evolves Monitor all transactional procurement including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, legal considerations and payment conditions, contractors, performance evaluation and risk assessment Implement strategic procurement including sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management, customer relationship management and performance measurement Develop and manage the rosters of suppliers, elaborate supplier selection and evaluation, quality, and performance measurement mechanisms Communicate logistics and supply chain financial and operational trends; historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics Conduct activities required by the contract including logistical support, accreditation, licensing, verification of goods, monitoring of activities and performance of subcontractors Monitor and analyze contract performance against agreed benchmarks through agreed reporting mechanisms and advise projects on potential issues and recommend remedial actions. Prepare Purchase Orders, Amendments, and requests for contract awards and/or waivers for accumulated procurement values ensuring that all specifications, terms and conditions are and correct Monitor life-cycle/shelf-life of assets and equipment

Competencies: Strong Netsuite or ERP fundamentals a must Ability to lead procurement processes using specific procurement methods and to analyze procurement and supply chain service requirements Strong analytical skills Effective team leader that can resolve challenges efficiently Experience managing contract manufacturing Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude. Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities. Ability to promote integrity and business ethics; demonstrate mature judgment, trust and open communication; ability to ensure collaborative behavior and team spirit Ability to develop collaborative and harmonious relationships with external partners and clients at the senior level. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to persuade and influence others Ability to multitask and prioritize work schedules Manages related support projects and facilities in support of business needs Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand on feet for periods of time Education/Experience/Language requirements: Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain or Procurement Management Experience Bachelor’s Degree (with Supply Chain, Inventory and/or Logistics Management focus preferred) Proficient in the use of computer applications and systems Strong written and verbal skills Competitive market rate compensation package including new hire stock options.
