The NC Department of Transportation Web Services group is seeking a UI/UX Front-End Developer/Designer Specialist for its public facing myDMV site. The person will be responsible for responsive page design, graphic asset design/development, Front-End Development with JavaScript and CSS, wireframes, creation of UI elements, and creation of layout templates based on the needs of the NCDOT Ferry unit. This contractor should have extensive experience creating public facing marketing websites, graphic editing, responsive design for all platforms, and page performance. The contractor should also be familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud, Visual Studio Code, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, and using these tools together to manipulate the DOM. This position will be assigned to NHC Rm 346.Maintains User Experience (UX) standards across multiple page/sites for layout and interactivityDesign and building of interfaces for our internal clients using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Balsamiq Mockups and text editorsCreation/editing of data-driven page templates in a content management system, as well as pages containing static HTML content Experience with Git, and/or Team Foundation ServerAdding interactivity and animation to pages using JavaScript and CSS all while keeping page load and responsiveness in mind at all timesBuilding site templates with master pagesExperience developing for a wide variety of browsers and screen sizes, using progressive enhancement to give users the best possible experience for their deviceClearly communicating status reports, in verbal and written formCollaborating as a dedicated team member and demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate with other team membersRequired/Desired Skills
