Security plus cert needed Functions to be performed: The Telecommunication Technician shall provide first-tier support, under general direction, to end users for telecommunications and Video Teleconference Communication (VTC). Maintain and install new interconnecting cable for VTC and computer installations. The technician shall document and report all trouble tickets i.e. voicemail, ringer problems, and connection issues with the Avaya phone system to Base communication (G6). All telephone moves, additions, and changes need documentation and reported to G6 for action. The technician shall set up all VTC meetings and monitor feed for issues. Technician is responsible for trouble shooting and resolving all VTC issues. The technician shall manage all cell phones including distributing, documenting custody, and basic trouble shooting for end users. Technician shall assist in inventory of the department's assets. Technician shall track his assigned trouble tickets in the remedy ticket system and complete the as resolved when they are completed. The Telecommunication Technician shall install and configure VTC codec equipment. All-inclusive support of desktop or room based VTC suites and IP Conferencing architectures. Maintain new or current AV and network infrastructure consisting of Cat5, digital video cables, analog video cables, and audio cables. The Telecommunication Technician shall upgrade current software and hardware already in operation. Manage Schedule and perform maintenance on equipment in a timely manner. Troubleshooting and testing of systems and equipment (Level 3 support). Create and maintain customization documentation for testing and validation of AV and VTC systems. The Telecommunication Technician shall provide excellent communication, both internally with the team and Management, as well as externally with the customers. Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills in order to evaluate situations make recommendations and take prompt, effective corrective action. The Telecommunication Technician physical requirements: Be able to lift 50 lbs. Walk-up flights of stairs, as required. Crawl under desk/tables to troubleshoot cables and network connections. QUALIFICATIONS.:

  • Must be proficient with computers and familiar with software for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, database management, and statistical analyses. This includes but is not limited to, Microsoft Office Internet Explorer, producer, MS Project, MS Visio, MS XP , Active Roles, Adobe flash player, active X, Adobe reader, Adobe Standard/Pro, PhotoShop, AutoCAD, CardScan, SRTS, M2, TPOCS PD2, Turbo Prep, SARS, Dragon Speak, Guarrdian Edge, Business Objects, Java, Juniper Odesy Wireless Client, Lotus Notes, Windows service packs, power DVD, Quick Time, Rozio, Snag-IT, Wire Shark, As U Type, Reflections, AHLTA, Essentris, Citrix Client and Omnicell.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with VTC codec equipment, to include configuration, set up and troubleshooting is required for the Telecommunication Technician position.
  • The Telecommunication Technician shall be proficient with the following; VTC codec equipment, such as Tandberg, Cisco and Polycom and BlackBerry devices.
  • Provide three current letters of recommendation attesting to experience and capability in the conduct of PC Help Desk support and Telecommunications.
  • Telecommunication Technician position requires COMPTIA Security + certification.
