- The Budget Analyst reports to Manager, Budget and is responsible for maintenance of the operating and capital budgets for multiple agencies, performing a variety of complex analytical studies and undertaking assignments and projects as required.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements including performing variance analysis that are presented to each Board of Directors.
- Preparing budget staff reports and PowerPoint presentations for the Board of Directors.
- Assist with writing and compiling of a desk manual for the Senior Budget Analysts.
- Assisting with organizing electronic files
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Works under the supervision of the Manager, Budgets, who establishes goals and objectives and evaluates performance.
- Perform data gathering, analysis, and reporting using MS Excel, PowerPoint
- Provide, clerical, administrative, and data entry support.
- General department administrative support.
- Sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Three years full-time increasingly responsible experience in budgeting, accounting, or related field.
- Experience with grant budgeting is desirable.
- Experience with automated financial management system (e.g. PeopleSoft) is desirable.
- Experience with GFOA reporting is desirable.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Effective research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
